NAN News editorial group participated in Illinois 11th district congressman primary vote, including attended primary debate, attended their election camping events, and spoke with them on their election propose and goals, and conclude , that like Chicago Tribune’s endorsements on February 23, NAN News now endorse Democratic congressman Bill Foster for Democrats primary and Kent Mercado Republican primary.
11th congress district 3 primary candidate, Dr. Kent Mercado(Bartlett), Jerry Evans (Warrenville) and Susan Hathaway, we think business man Jerry has less experience and vision for his overall background , business women Susan didn’t show strong vision during debate on some key debate topics.
Compare to other 2 runners, Dr Kent Mercado has enriched background to be a doctor , attorney and businessman, and he kas more broad vision on most topics. During camping he showed as a nice listener, respect others, actively involved in communities, his response during debate is well balance, and compromise, so Dr Mercado is better suited for congressman role, so was endorsed.
NAN News editorial group did survey and participated in camping rally during 2016 and 2020 US president election, and for 2024 president primary election , since President Joe Biden is only nominee on Democratic primary, Biden will be endorsed. For Republican GOP nominee, since president Trump won most of state on 2024 GOP primary, so we will endorse Donald Trump .
