(From Mark Su for Congress, November 25, 2025, title photo: Mark Su at Jewish Center event November 16)On November 16,2025, I had the pleasure to speak at the Chicago Jewish Alliance forum with lots citizens and voters from 9th congressional district. The forum was open to candidates both Republican and Democrat. I was present to promote my candidacy for the 9th Congressional District as a Republican. I’m 100% grassroots and an 27 years loyal 9th district citizen. The reason I’m running is because I believe I’m the only one with a plan to offer true change and to support the constituents of the district for a better future ,I am the one to unite both democrats and republicans in 9th district, I am the only candidate try to solve conflicts like ICE conflicts in 9th district. while some Democrats choose to protest and cause more conflicts.
At this forum that I attended with my wife, I had the pleasure to meet and talk to the hosts including other candidates. During event, 9th district Republican candidate Rocio Cleveland accosted me then made loud statements to others that I was “CCP’ a Chinese spy. She said “Mark Su is a communism and don’t vote for him”. The candidates present were astonished by her statements but knew them to be lies as many there knew her bad reputation for attacking other candidates.
I make no apologies for being a Chinese-American. Like many immigrants, America is my home. My loyalty is to the Constitution and this country. As an immigrant of Asian decent I find it despicable and racist the claims made by Mrs. Cleveland. To associate my Chinese descent for being a communist spy to others was a treacherous act of slander and defamation as she also posted on Facebook these lies.
Rocio Cleveland did this attack on me on early May when I start my 9th district congress campaign, to reduce conflict, I choose to silent. But it shock me on November 16 Jewish center candidate event, she came to my table to attack me again, this make me cannot silent anymore, as my good will cause Recio’s further bad attack.
This press release will act as a cease and desist letter. Any further action will result with myself filing for an order of protection for harassment. Furthermore, I will instruct my attorneys to file a one million dollar lawsuit for harassment, slander and defamation of character as she is obstructing my political race with malicious lies.
Cleveland’s action also violate American constitution, which against ang discrimination based on race, and such actions attack American democracy system, which I am qualify US citizen and candidate, I have rights for vote and being vote.
Her actions were vile and unbecoming a Republican candidate. Instead of campaigning on her merits and a plan for true change, she instead attacks with misinformation offering no evidence, just hate. I offer this press release as a fair warning to Mrs. Cleveland to cease and desist with her lies and slander or face justice in the courts for her actions.
