Jan said “For the last 26 years, I have had the distinct honor and privilege of representing the 9th Congressional District of Illinois, my lifelong home and the best district in the nation. Today, it is with profound gratitude and the utmost appreciation for my constituents that I announce my decision not to seek reelection at the end of my current term”.
Upon Jan’s step down, IL 9 district US congress election for 2026 mid-term election will be fresh start, IL 9 will have new change, Mark Su, a IL 9th district resident leave in district 24 years, announce he will run election for this US congress representative position on March 2026 primary.
